TOCCI renovates Eleanor Slater Hospital -Regan Building for Behavioral Health.

Construction is slated to begin in Spring 2024.

TOCCI is teaming with NEMD Architects for renovations spanning six floors in Eleanor Slater Hospital’s Regan Building.  The hospital provides long-term acute and post-acute care to patients with complex psychiatric needs. When complete, the facility will consist of over 60,000 sf of inpatient Behavioral Health space.

We’re not just renovating a building; we’re revitalizing a vital hub for healthcare in Rhode Island. We are confident in this team’s ability to seamlessly integrate with ongoing operations while executing this work.”

Wayne Arruda, Healthcare Division Executive

Part of the first floor and floors three through six designated as lockdown psychiatric floors. The unit will house group therapy, consultation, exam, and activity rooms in addition to space for patient beds. Creating secure environments for staff and patients to safely provide and receive care is a top priority.  Specialty impact windows and anti-barricade doors will accompany intricate security systems throughout. Renovations include enhancement of the building’s facade to correct moisture penetration issues. TOCCI will work closely with the Eleanor Slater team to minimize disruptions to the hospital on the interconnected campus.

“We’re thrilled to once again partner with TOCCI to breathe new life into a medical facility. Our collective efforts will result in a renewed healthcare space that not only meets the highest standards but also contributes significantly to the well-being of the community it serves.”

Mehdi Khosrovani, President of NEMD Architects
