Redevelopment + Renovation of the former Worcester County Courthouse in Worcester, MA
This historical adaptive reuse project involved the redevelopment and renovation of the former Worcester County Courthouse in Worcester, MA into 118 apartment units and museum space honoring local African American cycling legend, Marshall “Major” Taylor. The residential units are split between market-rate and affordable units.
The 202,000 sf development’s scope included masonry restoration of the exterior façade, plaster restoration, millwork restoration, and window replication.
Courthouse Lofts was awarded the 2022 Paul & Niki Tsongas Award, in recognition of TOCCI and trade partner preservation efforts.
