Work at Elson Arts Center included the interior redesign and renovation of 32,000 sf of the existing 2-story structure to meet present-day studio needs and artist safety concerns.
The existing building was a cast-in-place structure, walls, floors, and ceilings; adding new MEP systems proved difficult due to unavailable chased opportunities.
A particular challenge of the project was its proximity to other buildings on campus; TOCCI’s diligence ensured safety and quality for all students and faculty.
On top of other project complexities, the campus was occupied; logistics were constricted due to student proximity and flow patterns.
