rendering of Natick family housing

Project Announcement – Tocci selected for a federal multifamily development in Natick!

Tocci Building Corporation has been awarded, through a competitive process conducted by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers New England District, the Design – Builder for the modular construction of family housing for the U.S. Army Natick Soldier Systems Center in Natick, MA. The project will be breaking ground late next week.

Tocci has engaged Khalsa Design Inc. (KDI), Allied Consulting Engineering Services, Verdant Landscape Architects and Design Consultants Inc. to deliver the design of 28 replacement housing units and the construction of 22 of those units along with site improvements to the Heritage Lane and General Greene Avenue housing areas.

The Heritage Lane Housing Area currently hosts 25 military housing units that are to be demolished and replaced with 19 new townhouses. The General Greene Avenue Housing Area includes two existing military housing units that are to be demolished and replaced with three single family structures.

Units will contain three to four bedrooms and vary in size from 1,950 to 2,500 square feet. The project scope also includes garages, patios, neighborhood amenities and more. The site is bordered by private housing, wetlands and a rail trail. This will be LEED Silver certified.

Tocci is excited to use their modular construction experience to begin their fifth modular project in Massachusetts. This is Tocci’s fifth project working with KDI, who has substantial experience of their own designing for modular construction. Most recently, Tocci and KDI collaborated on a 56-unit, 80,000 square foot modular housing development in Chelsea, MA.

Tocci is pleased to work with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to design and construct fresh, 21st Century housing using efficient modular techniques for the service members and their families stationed at the Natick Soldier Systems Center.
