Tocci joins panelists to present “Integrated Project Delivery Realized: Where BIM Really Shines”

On May 16th John Tocci joined three other panelists and moderator, Scott Simpson from KlingStubbins to present “Integrated Project Delivery Realized: Where BIM Really Shines” to 300 attendees. The panelists included: Michael O’Neal from Johnson & Johnson, New Brunswick, NJ; John L. Tocci from Tocci Building Corporation, Woburn, MA; Jeff Millett from Burt Hill, Boston, MA; and David Morris, EMCOR, El Cajon, CA.

The presentation reported on Tocci’s involvement in the Johnson and Johnson Virtual Design and Construction Charrette and research project taking place over the past 8 months. Attendees learned of the challenges and solutions involved in delivering a major clinical research and development project with Integrated Project Delivery using building information modeling tools. The panelist explained how they discovered the most dramatic problems that deal with relationships, protocols, leadership transfers, and cooperation – rather than the expected technological challenges of software and file management. The hour-long presentation was followed by scores of questions and interest which continued after the session’s conclusion.
