Tocci engaged A Healthy Balance, Inc. which kicked off their Wellness Program with a Lunch and Learn entitled, “Greens and Grains: Good and Easy” on Friday, June 7.
Nikki Tierney from A Healthy Balance shares important facts about nutrition, grocery shopping, portion control and appetite.The delicious bulgur, chickpea and feta dish uses a low-fat cheese with fresh lemon zest, juice, and chopped dill for a full flavor zing.Connie Spiros encourages the use of few ingredients for simplicity and fresh herbs for taste.Bob Tierney, Tocci’s General Superintendent, reads the chick pea nutrition label to assess sodium content.Dessert? In moderation, according to Nikki and Connie. Here is a strawberry rhubarb tart garnished with nonfat Greek yogurt and a mint sprig.
