John Tocci recently spoke at the Integrated Practice Seminar at the Graduate School of Design (GSD) at Harvard.

The attendees and speakers included executives from many of the top AEC firms across the country who are interested in integrating Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) and Building Information Modeling (BIM) into their practice.

[The conference was held] in response to owner demands for a more efficient and predictable process for designing and constructing buildings and the wider implementation of advanced technologies such as Building Information Modeling (BIM) and Integrated Practice. [I]ntegrated Project Delivery processes can improve collaboration among the design and construction team, reduce risk, and take advantage of team members’ knowledge earlier in the process. Through lectures, case studies, and group discussions, this seminar consider[ed] various aspects of Integrated Practice and how it may influence firm strategy and culture.
