Groundbreaking at Brookline Homewood Suites

Tocci building companies broke ground on the Brookline Homewood Suites project in July 2014.
A year later, the project is well underway. Located at 111 Boylston Street in Brookline, MA, the new hotel is adjacent to public transportation and within walking distance of a variety of amenities. The final hotel design includes 130 rooms, two terraces with greenery, an area for relaxing outdoors as well as a green room indoors, and a pool. Recently, Tocci’s VDC and Marketing department visited the site where John Adams, Superintendent, Mark Sacco, Assistant Superintendent, and Jessica Valadares, Project VDC Modeler, gave a site walkthrough and explained the current phase of the project.
Jessica recaps the day’s events:
“As the remaining portion of the building is currently being erected on site, the VDC and Marketing team got a chance to witness how the concrete planks are lifted using an air-powered vacuum. The other portion is already underway with wall frames and plank penetrations. John Adams and Mark Sacco took the team to see Room 530 which is currently being fitted as a mock-up for MEP trades. John, Project Superintendent, stated the importance of the mock-up would help determine if the trades are installing correctly and how long it takes to get a better understanding of the timeline for the rest of the building installation. The group could see mechanical and plumbing currently being installed in the room and around the site. Looks like things are in motion!”
