TOCCI’s Commitment to a Greener Future.

The construction industry is known for its significant contribution to global climate change. In fact, the buildings and construction sector is responsible for more than a third of global CO2 emissions.

Earth Day serves as a reminder to embrace eco-friendly practices, reduce carbon footprints, and prioritize sustainable solutions. At TOCCI, we recognize the impact that we have on our environment and the future of our planet. We understand that succeeding generations have their work cut out for them reducing waste, recycling more effectively, and living more sustainably, and we want to attempt to ease some of that burden now.

TOCCI has always been an early adopter of new technology,” says Lila Tocci, Director of Company Life. “From computers to cell phones in 1986, fax machines in 1990, and so much more. Our team began driving an electric vehicle when leases became available almost 10 years ago and has since implemented many electric vehicles in our company fleet. We can see where trends for cleaner energy are going, and haven’t waited for the future to implement some of those initiatives at TOCCI.” The recent addition of electric vehicle chargers at 660 Main St. underscores TOCCI’s dedication to supporting EV adoption among employees and in the community.

Beyond transportation we do our very best to reduce the carbon footprint of our office – from recycling and digitizing documentation to prioritizing clean energy initiatives. Solar panels were installed at 660 Main St. in 2021. With the help of Nardone Electric, TOCCI’s solar array covers 100% of our office costs and produces considerable excess capacity which can be allocated elsewhere. We plan to use this extra power for the greater good, whether that be implementing it on jobsite meters or giving back to the Woburn community.

As part of our ongoing approach to environmental stewardship, TOCCI actively engages in community outreach and volunteerism. The TOCCI team participates in local community cleanups with Project Hope as well as gardening projects and composting programs.

“Increased awareness is often the first step to the next step toward making sustainable thinking and practice a way of life.”
