Worcester Memorial Auditorium
Preserving a Worcester Landmark
TOCCI completed renovations at the Worcester Memorial Auditorium, a 31,265 square foot historic civic landmark. TOCCI carried out non-structural demolition, mold abatement, and preparatory improvements that set the stage for future restoration. This work, supported by funding from MassDevelopment’s Underutilized Properties Program, marks the beginning of a long-term effort to reestablish the Auditorium as a vibrant cultural and community hub.

Safety + Systems Readiness
TOCCI modified existing fire protection systems to accommodate post-demolition conditions and installed temporary lighting and life-safety measures. These updates ensured the building was safe and functional to host a public ceremony in the Entrance Hall, bridging Worcester’s historic legacy with its next chapter of use.
Even in demolition, TOCCI’s approach safeguarded the auditorium’s irreplaceable character, ensuring later restoration could build on a sound base.
Environmental remediation and temporary life-safety measures brought the space up to modern standards, bridging the gap between past neglect and future use.
By preparing the space for ceremonial events, TOCCI helped the city keep the auditorium active, sustaining momentum for the full restoration.
