A 1904 Landmark, Rebuilt to Last
Built in 1904 to house the Navy Yard’s drafting offices and maintenance shop, Building 107 is a three-story masonry structure standing within the Charlestown Navy Yard National Historic Landmark District, part of Boston National Historical Park. TOCCI’s scope includes a full restoration of the historic building envelope in accordance with federal historic-preservation standards—masonry repointing, roof deck and insulation work, slate roofing, skylights, copper gutters and downspouts, and window restoration and replacement, along with the building’s distinctive mushroom-shaped roof vents.
A Shared Headquarters
Funded through the Great American Outdoors Act, Building 107 will unite Boston National Historical Park, Boston African American National Historic Site, and Boston Harbor Islands under one roof for the first time.
A Complete Renovation
New mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems, paired with LEED certification, will modernize accessibility and energy performance while preserving the building’s historic character.
A Working Campus
Set along Boston’s Freedom Trail, the Navy Yard draws more than 1.5 million visitors a year. Building 107 supports a broader NPS strategy to consolidate operations and address deferred maintenance across the campus.
