TOCCI has an immediate opening for a Superintendent.

Tocci Construct is seeking an experienced Superintendent to lead all field operations and execution for assigned projects. The Superintendent is responsible for translating project plans into safe, high-quality, on-time construction through disciplined site management, subcontractor leadership, and hands-on problem solving. 

Working in close partnership with the Project Manager, the Superintendent assumes day-to-day responsibility for site operations, safety, quality, schedule adherence, and subcontractor performance. This role is critical to client satisfaction and Tocci Construct’s reputation for execution excellence. 

The ideal candidate is a decisive field leader with strong judgment, deep construction knowledge, and the ability to motivate teams while maintaining control in complex environments.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead Field Operations & Teams: Set field execution strategy, sequencing, and daily work plans; mentor crews; own on-site performance and client satisfaction; provide real-time input to the Project Manager on safety, quality, schedule, and risk. 
  • Manage Subcontractors: Participate in selection; run coordination meetings; enforce safety, quality, and contract compliance; resolve performance and relationship issues. 
  • Coordinate Authorities & Inspections: Maintain strong relationships with Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJ)s; schedule inspections; drive Certificates of Occupancy. 
  • Control Site Logistics & Conditions: Oversee mobilization/demobilization; maintain safe, organized jobsites; manage logistics plans, equipment use, environmental controls, housekeeping, and access. 
  • Drive Safety Leadership: Partner with the Safety Director to deliver zero-incident programs; enforce OSHA compliance; conduct daily inspections and weekly safety meetings. 
  • Own Schedule Execution: Build and manage construction schedules and look-a-heads; align manpower, materials, and sequencing; hold subs accountable; execute recovery plans. 
  • Deliver Quality & Commissioning: Implement QA/QC plans; inspect work; manage mock-ups and testing; drive punch lists; co-lead commissioning. 
  • Support Cost Control: Manage General Conditions, validate change work, monitor productivity, and report cost performance. 
  • Maintain Field Reporting: Produce daily reports, as-builts, photos, and monthly input on safety and progress. 
  • Lead Closeout & Turnover: Drive completion, inspections, financial closeout support, and smooth owner turnover that generates repeat work.

Qualifications + experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Civil Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience). 
  • 10+ years of experience in field supervision on commercial construction projects. 
  • Proven experience leading projects valued at $10M+. 
  • Strong understanding of construction means and methods, sequencing, and logistics. 
  • Proficiency with scheduling tools and field reporting systems. 
  • Comfort with technology, mobile field tools, and digital documentation platforms. 
  • Field Leader: Commands respect through competence, clarity, and consistency. 
  • Decisive: Makes timely, informed decisions in dynamic environments. 
  • Organized: Maintains control of complex site operations and documentation. 
  • Accountable: Owns outcomes and drives resolution.

Physical + Travel Requirements

  • Ability to work on active construction sites and perform physical tasks as required. 
  • Tolerance for exposure to weather, noise, dust, and other construction conditions. 
  • 100% field-based, with local and regional travel required.
