AIDS is the greatest humanitarian crisis of our time. 67% of all people with HIV AIDS live in Africa.

Yet, millions of infected adults and children don’t have access to the most basic care.

Typhoon Haiyan, considered the 4th strongest typhoon recorded, viciously impacted the Philippines leaving many people affected and vulnerable, especially children.

Boston Hope is a hands-on community event that directly helps those suffering from HIV and AIDS in Africa to help equip caregivers so that they can effectively care for their neighbors, and this year, reaching out to children in the Philippines by providing backpacks filled with school supplies, hygiene items, and an insect repellent blanket.

Their hope in 2014 is to equip caregivers with vital supplies they need to care for affected households in their communities suffering from AIDS and provide essential supplies to children recovering from Typhoon Haiyan.

On March 29th, churches, organizations, individuals, and schools across the Boston area came together to help with Boston Hope. In an attempt to contribute just a little bit, several Tocci employees helped in assembling the Caregiver Kits for Africa and Promise Packs for the Philippines. Boston Hope is an effort by World Vision, whose global work includes tackling issues relating to health and disaster relief while integrating lasting solutions to the root causes of poverty.
