A Year “Well” Spent at Tocci

2017 was an amazing year for our Wellness Team.

Not only have we managed to grow as more employees participated in our initiatives, but we also have engaged in more health conscious and giving opportunities. Before getting too far into the New Year, I want to reflect on the past year of wellness here at Tocci.

A key element of a healthy life – Tocci had various initiatives to implement a healthy diet and try out fun, yet nutritious options!

Members of the Wellness Team volunteered to provide homemade, healthy snacks for the office. Examples include: Hummus Tasting and Morning Protein Smoothies. We also introduced  a healthy snack/meal vending machine offering healthy breakfast, snack, and lunch options.

Wellness Wednesday

Our team also set up a Weekly Wellness Wednesday email coordinating with desk drops that support Tocci’s monthly Health Awareness themes.

To help our staff stay active we offer weekly low-intensity resistance band training, yoga, and pound fitness classes.

Guest Speakers

We love to learn more about how to stay healthy mentally and physically, so we welcome guest speakers to teach us about their areas of expertise

Since giving is a crucial part of wellness, and we engage in giving opportunities throughout the year! Some events from 2017 include: Cradles to Crayons, Habitat for Humanity Boston (Orgill), More Than Words book drive, Children’s Hospital Blood Drive, Anton’s Winter Coat Drive, Thanksgiving fundraiser for the Council for Social Concern, and Toys for Tots gift drive.

Living a healthy lifestyle isn’t only about eating right and staying fit- being happy and enjoying yourself is also a key element! We try to provide our employees with plenty of opportunities for fun.

We are proud and excited to see that Tocci’s wellness efforts have been recognized throughout the year! Tocci received American Diabetes Association’ prestigious Health Champion Designation and WorkWell Council of Massachusett’s bronze-status Worksite Wellness Award.

This has been a very active year for the Wellness Committee, and we can’t wait to see what 2018 will bring!
