For nearly 30 years Tocci Building Companies has supported World Vision, an international Christian Relief and Development Agency.
In developing countries World Vision employs local people to carry forward development initiatives—helping them dig wells for clean water, protect themselves from mosquito-borne malaria, promote and sustain education, and obtain loans to operate small businesses.
On Saturday, April 6. Tocci will join Boston AIDS Africa to assemble caregiver kits for health workers in northern Uganda where more than 1.2 million children are orphaned from HIV/AIDS. Much like a home health aide, rural workers help bathe and care for neighbors suffering from AIDS. World Vision, in partnership with local supporters, supplies items such as antibiotic ointment, band-aids, aspirin, soap, a flashlight with extra batteries, etc. The items are set up for volunteers who place each item into a drawstring bag. The bags are packed in boxes and stacked on pallets for shipping.
