Cedar Crest Village is one of Northern New Jersey’s premier continuing care retirement communities—a full-service, maintenance-free campus spanning 130 acres in Pompton Plains, designed exclusively for residents aged 62 and older. TOCCI served as Construction Manager for the development of this 1,355,000 sf, 13-building community, delivering independent living, assisted living, and skilled nursing facilities across a five-year, multi-phase construction program.

Construction at the Scale of a Community
At 1,355,000 sf across 13 buildings—ranging from 2 to 6 stories of steel framing—Cedar Crest Village required TOCCI to operate less like a general contractor and more like a small municipality. Three interconnected clubhouses anchor the campus, linked by climate-controlled, glass-enclosed walkways that connect all community buildings and provide residents year-round access to dining, fitness, and amenity spaces. Construction was phased across five years, with individual building turnovers sequenced to keep the broader campus operational and occupied throughout.
