TOCCI Delivers State-of-the-Art Outpatient and Behavioral Health Space
Situated at the center of the buildings highly trafficked main lobby, TOCCI transformed the first floor of BMC’s Crosstown Building into 25,000 sf of modern, multi-functional clinical space. The new facility features a radiology unit, mammography suite, outpatient behavioral health clinic with multiple consult and exam rooms, a refugee clinic, and a phlebotomy lab.

Crosstown Reimagined
Following Boston Medical Center’s 2018 acquisition of the Crosstown Center, the facility has undergone a phased redevelopment to support the hospital’s expanding outpatient services. This project is the culmination of a 6-year, multi-phased IPD project throughout the majority of the Crosstown building.
Building in a Patient-First Environment
TOCCI worked in lockstep with BMC to safely execute construction adjacent to one of the hospital’s most active lobbies within a 500-bed, continuously operating clinical building. With patient care as the top priority, TOCCI implemented detailed logistics plans for material handling and controlled deliveries to avoid peak traffic periods. Special attention was paid to acoustic management, especially near the building’s sleep lab where the team utilized sound level meters to monitor and maintain acceptable decibel thresholds throughout construction.
