Revitalizing the City of Worcester

WORCESTER: A PLACE TO LIVE, WORK, LEARN, AND PLAY

Since establishing UMass’s biotech park, creating Polar Park stadium, and improving Worcester Polytechnic University, Clark University, and Holy Cross University’s campuses, the city is re-emerging as an economically viable choice for young professionals and families.

Like Cambridge and Boston, the City recognized the value in boosting biotechnology to establish a home base for manufacturing skill, augmenting the hotbed of research genius. With real estate that’s substantially more economical, Worcester lends itself as a branch to biotech in Kendall Square, cracking open a job market to answer a critical need.

Polar Park hosts more than 72 days of family-fun home games; it is a year-round anchor to downtown revitalization – prime for shopping, dining, and pub establishments. Future growth is scheduled for the area with the demolition of Table Talk’s pie factory to construct multi-family housing. Worcester’s evolution appeals to an increasing, eclectic population, thus drawing younger crowds and entrepreneurs from Boston.

TOCCI is delighted to contribute to this recent growth, with the construction of the Homewood Suites across from Union Station, the historic restoration and adaptive reuse of the former Worcester County Courthouse into Courthouse Lofts, the student housing renovation for the WPI South Village Expansion, and Worcester Auditorium’s initial restoration.

Worcester further capitalizes on its position as New England’s second largest city. The revitalization isn’t limited to the municipality; it is felt personally, as longtime residents appreciate the positive energy and dynamic growth accompanying new residents. People realize “the time is ripe to climb aboard”. Worcester is becoming Massachusetts’ new Somerville. Come feel the change in the air. It’s palatable.
