NuPath, A Taste of Spring Fundraiser
At Tocci we support organizations across the globe and in our community. NuPath, an organization that helps people with disabilities live independently, is here in Woburn. Their mission is to provide the disabled with “the support needed to live, work, learn, grow and participate to their fullest potential in their community.”
Last Wednesday Lila Tocci, Amy West, Lorrie Guthrie and Julie Brown attended A Taste of Spring, NuPath’s annual fundraiser at the Holiday Inn Select in Woburn. Local restaurants served samples of their wares from Turner Fisheries’ lobster bisque, to Tango’s Empanada de Pollo to Masa’s Halibut Cerviche—pizza from Regina’s and cheesecake from Dole and Bailey–you get the idea.
From Amy: “What a great event! I was impressed by the level of company sponsorship, excellence of the gourmet purveyors and great attendance. It is such a worthy cause- -nurturing opportunities for independence for the disabled in our community.”
From Lorrie: “An exceptional experience for me and my guest– I did not anticipate the scale. . . I expected about 100 guests and maybe10 tables of food to sample. Well, the function has grown into a full takeover of all that hotel’s ballrooms and courtyard. The rain had stopped, the sun was shining and everyone came out to have a good time. KISS 108 DJ’d the event, at a low decibel which was surprising and perfect. I met up with some NuPath folks (mentors and clients) that I knew from their gift shop, “The Mercantile”. My date purchased raffle tickets and won an evening of bowling at the Woburn Bowladrome (including free shoe rental!), and dinner at Qdoba . The food samples were very tasty, and I spoke with owners of local restaurants which I will visit in the future. It was a win/win/win event: money for NuPath, hands-on advertising for local eateries and good food and treats for everyone!”
