Outpatient pediatrics hospital floor, with a nurse and doctor in discussion near the front desk

TOCCI renovated the 7th floor of Boston Medical Center’s Crosstown Building for Outpatient Pediatrics.

The seventh floor utilizes demountable partitions with KI’s modular wall panel system to support exam rooms and offices for outpatient pediatrics. 56 exam rooms, 14 consult rooms, 2 infusion bays, and administrative offices; 4 exam rooms are designed for treatment and testing such as echocardiogram and EEG neurology.

A designated exam room supports phlebotomy blood draw station and specimen collection requirements. Crosstown’s Outpatient Pediatrics floor supports other congruent sub-clinics including General + Adolescent Pediatrics, Child Psychology, and STAR Unit.

An exciting project with unique challenges, it finished 2 weeks before the anticipated completion date. All thanks to a great effort from the Integrated Project Delivery (IPD) team!

At BMC, information flows freely. Risks are identified early, while those that are missed are dealt with swiftly – made easy through a culture of growth. It is with the opportunity to ask, “what’s the solution?” or “how can we compromise?” that we see the true advantage of IPD – a seamless, communicative team.
