LEED and Sustainable Design

Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) is a framework, developed in cooperation with environmentalists, planners, architects, contractors, building material manufacturers and others involved in built-environment practice, that outlines strategies for sustainable site development, water savings, energy efficiency, materials selection and indoor environmental quality. LEED, in its highest use, results in eco-friendly, highly efficient buildings certified at LEED-rated silver, gold or platinum levels.

Tocci advocates the use of resource efficient materials and technologies in design and construction. We have LEED Accredited Professionals on staff who work closely with developers and architects who practice sustainability whether for LEED certification or inclusion, as much as possible, of sustainable content within the construct. The economics of green or sustainable construction discourages many developers from pursuing LEED certification. Our position is that LEED can and should be used as a guidepost for designing and constructing buildings with increased green content whether or not these buildings achieve full LEED certification. We are committed to taking steps, small or large, that serve to protect and improve our environment.
