Though we are still in the thick of COVID-19, Michael Hyatt and Megan Hyatt Miller propose looking forward. There are several lessons to be learned from this pandemic and it would be worth our time to glean from them now in order to prepare for the chance that a crisis of this sort might happen again. By utilizing this time to polish both our businesses and our characters, we can be ready to tackle any issue that arises in the future.
One of their four suggestions is to act aggressively but thoughtfully. A crisis can accelerate decision-making, which is sometimes a good thing. Acting quickly can be the difference between falling behind and getting ahead of your competitors. In one such case, restaurants that were already equipped for curbside dining were able to cater to their customers long before others. On the flipside, it is important not to react based on fear or panic. Doing so could potentially compromise your company’s vision or drag you into a long-term strategy that you don’t want to be in. Other suggestions mentioned include maintaining strong cash reserves, protecting your well-being and that of your team, and communicating proactively.
